Here We Go Again!

This Galaxie 12 is off to PA

A writer bonding with his machine.

Want to save $51 ?  You have to spent $49.  Huh?

For a cup of coffee, you can take this No.5 home.

I'm not sure I can swing a dollar a week.

This ad is from March, 1901.

  1. Thanks for a cracking post. Wonder if business is up for Brady & Kowalski as featured in the photoset? Good luck with the surgery!

  3. Good luck with the surgery, Tom.

That Galaxie Twelve looks just like the one I brought you the other weekend. Those things aren't as pretty as the piano-black 1930s machines, but they're terrific typers, and better for everyday use.

  4. Isn't it amazing what press can do? I so enjoy your blog, please keep writing. It's such fun to see what is going on in the shop each week.

  5. Frickin'.
    Awesome.

OK, not about the surgery, but you know...the typewriters.

    -hem-

Anyway, it is blog entries like this one that are slowly peeling away the intense xenophobia I feel as the typosphere expands. If it means that retrotech-lovers are part of the "in" crowd, it's a small price to pay to see people turning once again to simpler forms of composition.

  6. Hey Mike- It's pretty exciting watching the typosphere grow so quickly. It's also neat watching the popularity of typewriters grow. I think many people are feeling the need to connect with others who feel like they do about typewriters.

Thanks for your comments and well wishes everyone.

  8. I'm thinking there'd be folks willing to travel if you ever give a typewriter-repair course. Pretty sure I would.
