About this blog

This blog is about the daily activities in a busy typewriter shop. I want to share with you the many interesting people who come in here, the beautiful machines I get and most of all the great typewriter stories that people share with me!

Working on the blog with Abraham

Notice the extra compartment and lock

The bottom case folds out to hold your martini

I'm typing on Abraham's Olympia Splendid 33 in script

  1. A flash type-in sounds like fun! If we did it in multiple cities we could all post together!
on another topic where can I get replacements for the thumb nuts holding the ribbon spools down on a studio 44? would a hardware store have anything suitable?

  2. That's weird -- the other night on the Portable Typewriter Forum chat, someone suggested a flash mob type-in, and we talked about doing it at a Starbucks. Brilliant idea -- first one, then another, then a whole lot of people pull out their typewriters and start writing. It would be mind-bending. Has to be done in a place such as Boston where there are enough typists to constitute a "mob."

  3. Flash mob! Great idea, especially if everyone typed in a rhythmic unison.

  5. Tom, I've been known to go to Diesel Cafe, in Davis Square with my typewriter, or to sit outside in my yard and write. Also, someone just pointed out to me that a few months ago you mentioned a man you sold a 1936 Royal to. I think that guy was me.
