Looks like everyone had a great time. Your weather looks like it was perfect too. I always get the home feeling when I see the photos outside your shop. There is something nice about the area that is lacking where I live and your location reminds me of where I lived in PA and I would visit different places in NY, CT & MA.
That's it. I'm putting in for a personal day as soon as you pick the date for your next type in.
Also, I must report that at the place I work, some of the younger generation have taken to wearing bow-ties. I think that decades of looking at slovenly baby-boomers has led to a reactionary longing for male style; Matt Smith's portrayal of the latest "Doctor Who" has given us all the excuse we need to accept formal as cool, again.
Recently we had a casual dress weekend (which really just meant a step down from "business casual" to jeans, sneakers, and sweat-shirts). A few of our younger staff weren't sure how to cope with this and just showed up in proper trousers, suspenders, waistcoats, ties, etc.
What a wonderful time. Thanks so very much, Tom, for making your shop such an oasis for all the good things in life. And, yes, bow-ties are starting to catch on- outside of the Boston area! My Dad used to tell his nay-saying colleagues: "Bow-ties never get caught in the typewriter roller!" I've taken to saying: "Bow ties never get caught in laser printers, either!"
Boy am I bummed I had to miss this. A poetry event beckoned, but I really want to make the next one, whenever that can be. Fingers crossed that one more this summer is do-able.
Thanks for fixing my typewriters, by the way - can't wait to pick 'em up!

Beautiful day, beautiful time, and a beautiful Royal there at the end.
