After 75 Years - It's Time For A New Owner.

Ed Clark at his writing spot.

Every best selling book was typed on this machine.

The Typewriter Revolution is selling well at the shop.

It's so nice to get a machine in with a great story to it!

Mr. Mowrer's name is still on the shipping label.

This store window on Newbury Street is filled with antique sewing machines.

What a great old dealer sticker.

Just found this inside a SM-9 case.

  1. Great update. But honestly, when I first read the title I thought you were giving up the shop! Whew!

  2. What a touching story about Ed Clark and his typewriter. I hope his Aristocrat finds a good home where it will be loved for the next 75 years. And David McCullough's KMM - wow! That's a celebrity typewriter. I am very glad to hear that you are having a busy holiday season.

  5. Excellent post Tom.

You scared me at first thinking you were selling your shop. I'd really miss your posts if that happened.

I hope Mr. Clark publishes his book. From your report I'd love to read it.

Is the Tytell sticker any relation to Peter Tytell?

  9. Thank you all for your generous comments. Sorry about the blog title. I didn't realize until your comments that it sounded funny. Oh well!
Bill M- Ed Clark published his autobiography last year. At 1,200 pages long, it was divided into three volumes. It's called "A Man From Ohio" from Montpelier Press in Somerville, MA. I'm not sure about the Tytell sticker. I've seen it before and assumed it was from Peter Tytell or his dad.

Richard- Your book is awesome! I hope you sell a gazillion copies.

  10. I'm sure the sticker is from Martin Tytell's shop. It's neat! Do you have a shop sticker?

    1. Richard- I wish I had a cool dealer sticker but I just have a plain sticky label I put on machines and cases.

  11. One of your best posts yet! I love machines with a history and here are three machines with good stories. That Royal is a stunner, I love those machines, I think they are the best ever made and the burgundy really looks amazing. Thanks for sharing!
